Sustainability

EVERY DETAIL MATTER

Approach

We believe longevity is the most sustainable act: the longer a garment is worn, the lower its environmental impact. Our approach focuses on three simple ideas: quality, transparency, and continuous improvement, so every BLANKSTATE piece becomes part of a quieter, more thoughtful wardrobe.

Commitments

We are building the practices we wish every brand would follow. Today we:

By working together across all facets of our operations, we aspire to contribute meaningfully to a more sustainable and responsible future

Materials

LEATHER

100% traceable leather
90% of leather scraps are recycled

COTTON

We favour long-staple and organic cotton where possible. Tubular knits and heavier GSM fabrics extend life.

PLASTIC

0% PVC
17% bio-based or recycled plastic

PAPER

100% certified or recycled

PACKAGING

100% Forest Stewardship Council certified paper
100% Global Organic Textile Standard certified flannel

Packaging & waste

Packaging is designed for purpose, not excess:

  • Tissue wrap and a matte sticker finish every order.
  • Outer shipping uses recyclable mailers or cardboard.
  • For limited or gift boxes we use FSC-certified board and soft-touch finishes to maximize re-use.
  • We reduce single-use plastics and provide clear instructions for recycling.

Local production & transparency

We produce close to home. Manufacturing in Dhaka allows tighter QC, smaller batches, and more direct relationships with ateliers. This proximity reduces unnecessary logistics, improves traceability, and helps us work on incremental improvements with our makers.

We maintain a supplier register for internal audits and we’re committed to sharing progress on factory standards, audits, and improvement plans each year.

Repair & care

Small repairs matter. BLANKSTATE offers:

  • Complimentary minor repairs for manufacturing stitching issues within six months of delivery.
  • Care guidance on every product page and a short care video accessible via QR on the swing tag.
  • Clear washing instructions to limit shrinkage and preserve form.

What you can expect from us next

  • Publish a brief annual sustainability update with progress and next steps.
  • Move our core tees and hoodies toward a higher share of organic or recycled fibres by design.
  • Continue partnering with local suppliers to improve traceability and worker wellbeing.
